🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Only accessible from walking path. Quite late fruiting crab apple, fruit still quite firm but slightly sweetening on 31 Mar 2016. Can't vouch for quality... might try some for cider.
