🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Three crabapple trees at our house, the one on the corner is the easiest to reach. Crabapples are nickle to quarter size and sweet! The one by the driveway is inedible and the third is in the back by the porch, but fairly tall. Feel free to knock and say hello!
