🔍 When is it ripe?
Uniformly red with no white or green at the tip or shoulder. Strong strawberry fragrance even from a distance. Cap leaves (calyx) are fresh and green. Completely red flesh inside when cut. Wild strawberries are smaller but more intensely flavoured.
The strawberries here are small but very tasty. you might have to move some leaves to find a good berry, but this plant stays in season very long. This plant is part of the calvary reformed church garden, so you are invited to pick and help care for any of the plants.
