🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, oval, dark blue-purple. Intensely tart raw — best after first frost or for cooking. Fully ripe when skin darkens completely and fruit gives to pressure. Excellent for jam and gin.
Damson plum tree on our property, single tree.
Ask before harvesting in case we no longer have any left to harvest.
Healthy tree with usually a good amount to harvest.
