🔍 When is it ripe?
Skin turns from pale orange to deep red; fruit becomes angular and the blossom end flattens slightly as arils expand. Tap the skin — a ripe pomegranate sounds metallic. Heavy for its size. A slight crack at the shoulder is fine. Do not wait for it to fall.
Pomegranate trees along the side of the road. On public property, directly across the street from farm land, so there may or may not be pesticides overspray. I don't know if the farm across the street is organic or not.
