🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Noticed the tree in 2016 and have been caring for it. Pruned in February 2017. Tree was almost stripped by caterpillars in 2017 and was sprayed. As a result, didn't bear much fruit.
Pruned again in March 2018.
