🔍 When is it ripe?
Turns red, yellow, or purple depending on variety; flesh gives slightly under thumb pressure. Taste-test — ripe ones are sweet-tart with little astringency. Drops easily from stem when gently twisted.
Purple-leaf cherry plum with occasional, relatively large, round, tart fruit. The plums are purple like the leaves, so look carefully (or in the lawn for recently fallen fruit).
