Laurel sumac

πŸ“ Corral Canyon Trail, Corral Canyon Loop Trail, Malibu, CA 90265, USA
Laurel sumac Public
Laurel Sumac can be found all over this trail. You can't miss it. They're about the size of a lemon tree, have taco shell-shaped leaves, and clusters of white or reddish flowers that look like little Christmas trees. Uses: the Chumash made flour from their fruits and tea from the root bark for treating dysentery. The fruit is a whitish drupe with a smooth, flattish stone inside. Common along the coast of Southern California and Northern Mexico/Baja California.
