🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Two large old trees. The other is a few yards away to the west. Probably granny smith, or similar. A large yellow pie apple. Very tart, even when fully ripe, but makes incredible pie. located on a college campus, but nobody cares if you pick them. Parking is tricky because you are supposed to have a parking pass, but if it's on a weekend, nobody will care
