🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
Wild persimmon tree growing above the Asbury Trail section of the Lake Junaluska walking trail. Fruit may be hard to harvest due to the height of the canopy.
