Blackcurrant · Redcurrant

BlackcurrantRedcurrant
🗓 Season: July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black, glossy berries hanging in strigs. Ripe when all berries on the strig are black. Tart but intensely flavoured — leave a few extra days for sweetness. Best for juice, jam, and cordial.
There is one black and one red currant (both large bushes producing good quantities of fruit) on the east side of the barn at the Boal Mansion. I've never seen anyone else harvesting these and I doubt anyone would care as long as you're respectful and neat about it.
