🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Walk up the Red Rock Canyon Trail from the parking lot. After a quarter mile or less you will see several apple trees on your right. Most years plentiful. There are also several crab apples nearby.
