🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Picked 20 lbs of apples in September. They had pink flesh and were somewhat mealy, but made good applesauce. Seemed to have low sugar content. You need to negotiate traffic and hop a small fence to access this tree.
