their is a cheap bus from paso canoas border town costa rica / panama) to laurel every 30 min to 1h at the great crossing in front of the panama border building. wait their and probably ask someone for the autobus to laurel if you are not sure about it. So you arrived in laurel to find a 30 year old jackfruit tree In laurel busstop follow the road in east-south-east direction. pass the "parque de laurel" (small one) and go straight ahead in the same direction...near the end of the street you will see the fenced area of the "ICE" and right after it a huge fenced area with houses and trees in it. go along the road around the corner until you see the gate entrance. be nice to the guard und explane in spanish, that you heard about this jackfruit (arbol de jaca) inside and that you want to harvest one or two fruits for yourself to eat. You are not the first crazy one who asked him for that so he will understand and hopefully let you pass. the tree is on the left of the road after some houses right next to a school. have a nice harvest and feast ;).
