Blueberry

📍 Russel Rd and Collins Hill in Lawrenceville,GA
Blueberry Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep blue-purple with a silvery bloom; stem scar (not stem) at the top. Taste is the best test — a truly ripe blueberry is sweet and has no pink flesh inside. Let the cluster go fully blue before picking the whole thing.
EDIT 07/18/2020: No Trespassing signs were recently posted by supposed new owners. Enter at your own risk. Original post follows: If you are traveling south on Collins hill, turn right onto Russell Rd and on your left is a huge blueberries patch. You have to cross the ditch and go behind the row of trees along the road. They are ripe to pick July 1. The chiggers are bad. It's really hot too so it is best to go right at sun up and wear long pants and sleeves. Shoes and socks. The land is private property but the old couple that used to care for and charge for the picking has passed away. The property is abandoned.3
