Black raspberry: Deep purple-black, duller than blackberries. Separates from the hollow core like a red raspberry. Richer, more intense flavour than red raspberry. Short season — harvest daily.
Black raspberry (Rubus occidentalis): Deep purple-black; pulls free from the hollow centre. Strongly flavoured. Picks over about two weeks — check every couple of days.
If you follow the path that goes through the woods, you will come across a meadow that has a lot of black raspberry plants.
