🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Lovely little apple tree with very nice crisp red apples. They were mostly fallen on the ground by 10/9/2016. The tree is on the corner of a residential front yard - the grass had a thick carpet of apples so assuming the owners/renters aren't interested in the fruit but I didn't make any contact and don't know them personally.
