🔍 When is it ripe?
Turns red, yellow, or purple depending on variety; flesh gives slightly under thumb pressure. Taste-test — ripe ones are sweet-tart with little astringency. Drops easily from stem when gently twisted.
Two healthy plum trees behind library. Librarians tried to warn me they didn't know what kind of trees they were and that the fruit might be poisonous. Made a great plum tart after washing two bags full of fruit.
