Comfrey
π The Mill House, Sydenham, Chinnor OX39 4NF, UK
There are large colonies of comfrey here, alongside the path before the land banks down to the stream. You can get here by following the Public Footpath (sign reads towards Copcourt) from the Sydenham village road. You follow the footpath down the length of one field, cross a footbridge over the stream and come out to a second field. Then you take the path that passes under the canopy of a large ash tree on the bank of the stream, and you'll soon see the comfrey on the left hand side of the field.
NB On comfrey. I think the leaves make the strongest fertiliser before flowering, which is why I entered dates earlier on in their season. Chickens also love the comfrey leaves. And when the plant flowers, the chickens will happily have those too, though you have to dance your hands around the bees while you're picking.
