🔍 When is it ripe?
Non-astringent types: eat when orange and firm. Astringent types: wait until very soft and wrinkled. Both fully orange when ripe.
Multiple wild-type persimmon trees lie on the south side of the walking path that goes along the side of the golf course. In season, you can stand by the tree and hear small, ripe fruit dropping to the ground every few minutes. Take recently fallen fruit, or fruit that comes off the branch very easily; otherwise, the persimmons will be far too bitter. Wear shoes that are easily cleaned.
