🔍 When is it ripe?
White to pale pink or lavender when ripe. Very sweet and mild. Falls from the tree when ripe — spread a sheet below and shake. Extremely delicate; eat within hours. Ripe berries stain less than black mulberry but deteriorate even faster.
Large (~10m) mulberry tree located on E-facing slope of SW corner of stormwater retention pond and native plant restoration area. Managed by Watershed District, who would be delighted if these fruits were consumed thus relieving the propagule pressure of this less-desired species.
