🔍 When is it ripe?
Clusters of orange-yellow fruit; ripe when fully orange with no green, yields to gentle pressure, and comes off the stem with a slight tug. Very sweet and aromatic when right — mealy if overripe. Short shelf life after picking.
3 medium to large trees that bore a lot of fruit in 2020, though not particularly flavorable.
These trees are on Stanford University, so technically on private property, but they were going completely unpicked in 2020. If you drive, note that the parking spots immediately nearby are restricted 24 hours. There are less restricted spots about 20 on Olmsted Rd.
