Fruit tend to be small on this particular tree and falls when close to harvest. If you’re looking to pick, look for fruit where the “Spines” are well spread. Compared to an un ripe fruit it make look “inflated”. Birds loves this tree too, so don’t expect this to be a one time stop, look and pick. The birds are eyeing the ripening fruit as well, and if you’re not keeping track they may beat you to the bite!
