🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.
Healthy pear tree with ample fruit. The neighbor woman who drives a red sedan might yell at you for picking it but it is on the public easement. Much of the fruit just falls off since no one picks it.
