🔍 When is it ripe?
Ripe when fully coloured (white, red, or black by species) and falls at a touch. Spread a sheet and shake the branches. Extremely perishable — process or eat immediately.
Two varieties of mulberry. One is purple when ripe, other is whitish pink when ripe (I prefer the white). Its at bottom of hill behind the baseball diamond. I usually have a handful when walking by during couple weeks of harvest season.
