🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright orange-red berry clusters. Intensely bitter raw due to parasorbic acid — cook or freeze before eating. Excellent for rowan jelly (traditional with game). Ripe when fully orange-red and slightly soft.
there are a few trees on this block. all are on treelawns. this one had nice big clumps of berries.
