🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.
The person who lives in this house is exceptionally grumpy, but there is lots of fruit that falls on the ground which he doesn't eat. You could probably get away with taking some as long as you're quick about it.
