Orange

Orange Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: November · December · January · February · March
🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully orange skin (can be green-tinged in warm climates and still ripe). Heavy for its size, with a smooth, slightly glossy skin. Scratch and sniff — a sweet orange smell confirms ripeness. Navel oranges develop the distinctive navel opposite the stem.
Accessible from car park off Church St. High wall, you'll need something with a long handle. There was a mix of ripe-looking and unripe fruit in Feb 2015 - Oranges are a bit unpredictable in Hobart's climate). Seems underutilised so may be worth asking at 65 Warwick or 16 Church.
