🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, red to purple when ripe. Tart flavour; best for jelly or preserves. Harvests well as it begins to soften and colour fully.
There are two Mexican plum trees on the edge of someone's private property (a house). The two trees are in between the sidewalk and the street. They give lots of dark, little, Mexican plums when ripe, that they just lay on the ground. As of May of 2015, they were still there. Remember, this is a private property!
