🗓 Season: August · September
🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
Two elder shrubs. Grow in gardens shared between private tenants but hangs over the wall. Easily accessible from the curb. Had no/almost no insects and aphids on when in flower.
