🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Large tree has apples that store well for the winter. Apples are small, with good texture, but poor flavor that improves greatly over the winter.
Birds roost in this tree over the summer... which means bird poop... but they keep the bugs off the tree- no worms in these apples!
