🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Apple tree in the boulevard in Bettendorf, Iowa. It is on the west side of 18th Street between Kingsway Drive and Queens Court and is just south of the south entrance to Saint John Vianney Church which is across the street.
