Green husk cracks and turns brown-black when ripe, exposing the shell. Shake branches — ripe nuts fall freely. Gloves essential. Cure in a single layer for 2 weeks before storage.
all of the immature nuts have been removed from down low; i suspect by families eating ice cream from the Cafe on the Barge. will falling/ripe nuts be victims to the same fate? please note if you around in the autumn.
