Serviceberry
📍 71 Stewart Park, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA
🗓 Season: June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
5-7 young serviceberry trees along the trail here. Low-hanging, reachable branches. Very abundant in 2023. Freely accessible to anyone wishing to harvest.
