🔍 When is it ripe?
The green husk splits into four sections and turns brown when ripe. Shake branches or wait for fall. Cure in a cool, dry place for 2–3 weeks. Kernels should be full and not shrivelled.
The courthouse on the square is surrounded by delicious pecan trees. Gather them off the ground. Huge pecans can be gathered on the square and TWU campus as well as several other places around town.
