🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
In back corner of the mowed area is a mature crabapple tree with large fruits (for a crabapple).
There is also a line of eastern red-cedars going from that corner forward towards the parking area. Currently showing small immature fruits as of fall 2021.
