🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, olive-like, silvery-yellow to reddish fruit. Mealy and sweet-astringent when ripe. Best when fully coloured and slightly soft. Can be dried or used for jam.
Large Russian Olive (red variant) bush overhanging the sidewalk. They were ripe for the picking and I picked a handful. The scaly texture was very rough BUT they tasted tart and sweet.
