🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright red olive-shaped berries. Very sour when first red — wait until they turn deep red and fall freely or can be shaken off. High in vitamin C. Good for jam, wine, and sauce.
Cornus commonly known as dogwoods. It has the form of a spreading shrub or a small tree. The ripening date of the fruit depends on variety - usually from August to October. Red fruits taste similar to cherry or plum fruit. It blooms from March to April. The flowers are yellow.
