🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
A large patch of blackberry brambles at the corner of 8th st and Oceanview Drive. These berries are on the edge of a high school so I pick evening and weekends.
