Apple (Malus)

Apple (Malus) Public
🗓 Season: August · September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Tree outside a community centre that bears a large number of medium-sized, red apples. Apples are very tangy and develop better taste after it gets a bit colder. Fruit off the lower branches can be picked from early September onwards but by October, only the fruit on the upper branches is left. Pretty easy to climb and I easily get 2-5 pounds in a visit.
