🔍 When is it ripe?
Green outer husk splits and darkens; nuts fall or shake loose. Remove husks immediately and cure for 2 weeks to develop full flavour. Gloves prevent staining.
Large walnut tree. No nuts seen on the tree in sept 2021. Dry summer, some shells on the ground.
