Kumquat
📍 1853 S Norfolk St, San Mateo, CA 94403, USA
🗓 Season: November · December · January · February
🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep orange-gold; eaten whole — the sweet rind offsets the tart flesh. Ripe when uniformly orange, slightly soft, and very fragrant. The entire fruit is edible raw.
There is a large kumquat bush on the south side of the restaurant. It bears fruit for most of the year. It is located within the public access area of a business. The bush is there for decorative purposes.
