🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
There are two trees here with lots of berries within handpicking height! There aren't a lot of birds that go after them, which means you can let them really get to perfect ripeness before picking. The berries ripen over the course of a week or two, somewhat longer than the ones by Union South. They are very tasty too. They are on University property.
