🔍 When is it ripe?
Turns red, yellow, or purple depending on variety; flesh gives slightly under thumb pressure. Taste-test — ripe ones are sweet-tart with little astringency. Drops easily from stem when gently twisted.
Tree is accessible from the Portola parking cutout if you wade through the glass, needles, human faeces, and general trash. Be careful of poison oak. And needles.
