Mulberry

📍 1432 Cornelia St, Knoxville, TN 37917, USA
Mulberry Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: May · June · July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Ripe when fully coloured (white, red, or black by species) and falls at a touch. Spread a sheet and shake the branches. Extremely perishable — process or eat immediately.
On the south side of the road on E. Woodland, between Shepard and Matthews Place are multiple stands of both black and white mulberry trees overhanging the sidewalk. Easy to reach. Also check the near side of the alley way running between Cornelia and Shepard. The trees on Woodland at Shepard and the alley are on private property and overhang the entire sidewalk. The neighborhood is on alert after a rash of recent petty thefts from porches, etc., so always ask before poking around in their backyards!
