🔍 When is it ripe?
Large burs with very sharp spines. Fall naturally when ripe. Easier to peel than European chestnuts. Roast or boil; peel while warm.
Tree on back of Dickinson's Landis house. Branches overhang sidewalk and alley. Generally the squirrels pick this tree well.
