📍 352P+M2 Surrey, BC, Canada
🗓 Season: June · July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Serviceberry: Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Thimbleberry: Flat, dome-shaped, brilliant red berries. Very delicate — falls apart when fully ripe. Eat on the spot; does not travel. Ripe when uniformly red and separates without effort.
Copious bushes thoughout the large park. Quality of berries varies widely by bush and by year.
