📍 7 Victory Ave, New Orleans, LA 70124, USA
Citrus Private
🗓 Season: November · December · January · February · March
🔍 When is it ripe?
Depends on species, but universal cues: fruit is heavy for its size, skin is fully coloured for the variety, and scratch-and-sniff gives a strong citrus aroma. Most citrus holds on the tree for months once ripe.
This is inside the New Orleans Botanical Garden. They have various fruit trees and vegetables throughout the year. You must pay admission in order to enter unless you are a New Orleans resident, in which case you can get in for free on Wednesdays.
