🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright red olive-shaped berries. Very sour when first red — wait until they turn deep red and fall freely or can be shaken off. High in vitamin C. Good for jam, wine, and sauce.
Tons of cherries, very sour - wait until they get purple and plump in mid-late August, but they turn red starting beginning of August.
