Apple (Malus)

📍 J9CC+FM Berlin, Germany
Apple (Malus) Public
🗓 Season: August · September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
On the right along an asphalted bike path, to the North and South of the marked location, there's approx. 10-15 apple trees. This is probably a local kind, very tasty, when ripe, smaller type and eventually includes plenty fallen fruit. Collecting every summer/late summer, when passing through with a bike. Location known by locals. Lower hanging fruit might be harvested already mid-August. Trees are medium-easy to climb.
